Sunrise
Health System Library and Office of Continuing Medical Education
Sunrise Hospital’s Health System Library and Office of
Continuing Medical Education is located in the administration
wing directly across the hall from the Auditorium. The Sunrise
Health System Library provides pertinent and current research
information resources and services concerning healthcare and
related subjects through the use of varied media and technology
for the use of the hospital’s professional and general
personnel and in support of the education, teaching, patient
care and self-enrichment needs of those personnel. The Sunrise
Health System Library’s resources and services are also
available to the public. Library hours are between 7:30 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with 24-hour access available
to medical staff and employees using the identification badge
system. The Sunrise Health System Library maintains a collection
of current medical literature, including 200+ journal titles,
1000+ textbooks, specialized CD-ROM databases, current ready
reference section, audiovisuals and electronic format materials.
Services provided by the Sunrise Health System Library include:
maintaining AV equipment for educational purposes and meetings,
providing copies articles, literature search requests, interlibrary
loan services, and provides current price and availability of
book and journal inquiries for hospital departments and members
of the medical staff.
The Office of Continuing Medical Education is accredited through
the Nevada State Medical Association and provides members of
the medical staff with a program of regularly scheduled continuing
education programs which have been approved for AMA Physicians’
Recognition Award Category 1 credit by the Education and Library
Committee. Programs are developed to meet the specified educational
needs of the medical staff, but are open to other health care
professionals in the Las Vegas area.
